I arrived in England in early February, and shortly after that the daffodils came into bloom. There was a large field near my aunt’s house that was covered in wild daffodils; it was spectacular. The area around Norfolk grows (or did then, anyway) a lot flowers for sale, and the markets near us always had plentiful and cheap flowers. My aunt always kept a few bouquets around the house. Ever since, flowers have been one of my small indulgences, and we usually have at least one or two vases full.
