Matchboxes

Sometimes, over the course of a trip, I find that a whimsical theme emerges. This time, it was the amazing variety of matchboxes I started noticing on the ground. I’m not the first person to take note of these delightful little artifacts; there are at least two books that I’ve come across that showcase them. (I’m fond of Light of India.)

I first noticed the matchboxes in Mussoorie, and since most of them were flattened, Dan and I joked about calling this series Mashed Matchbooks of Mussoorie. In the end, I didn’t see enough of them to really call this a series, but I thought they would be fun to share anyway.
