One of the many excellent things about working at home is that I look out my window to the back garden all day. That is to say, onto what will be the back garden someday. But right now, the apricot tree is in bloom, and I can watch a tree full of these lovelies sway gently in the breeze. The blossoms have been open for a little while now, and so a gust of wind will create a shower of faintly pink petals.

I’ve also been watching some small birds, finches I think, pecking into the centers of flowers, and pulling petals off with their beaks and then dropping them. I wish I knew what that was all about.
