Peek-a-Bug

OK, I know a butterfly is not a bug, but I could not resist that title. This little guy (or gal) was at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. Posting has been sporadic, and will probably  continue to be for the next month and a half. Moving & renovation plans are progressing: next up is tenting for termites, and we are eagerly awaiting the results of the asbestos test on the ceilings and vinyl flooring that is going to be removed.

Great Eggfly

I’ve kind of got butterflies on the brain… we went to see the Butterfly Zone exhibit at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco on Saturday. It’s a beautiful place, but the butterfly exhibit didn’t hold a candle to the one we saw in Massachusetts. This is another one from the Butterfly Place – a Great Eggfly.

Rice Paper Butterfly

We spent an afternoon at the Butterfly Place, in Westford, MA. This was fun for everyone – kids and grownups alike. It’s an enclosed conservatory with hundreds of butterflies that have the run of the place. You are not allowed to touch them, but often they land on you. It was great to be able to get so close to so many butterflies. Now, I want to go to the special exhibit that’s on at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers!
